I attended a youth conference as an adult volunteer. What I witnessed that weekend took my breath away! I was blown away at how bold teens were sharing about their faith with their peers. And then to witness other teens humbly asking for prayer to invite Jesus into their lives. Fearless, vulnerable, and sold out for Jesus. During the preaching and worship music times, the room was saturated with the presence of the Holy Spirit. I felt overwhelmed with joy! Encouraged, and challenged to live out my own faith in a bolder way.
SAY TO GOD: “HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!”
After fighting it for months, my husband and I felt God’s nudge to complete foster care training. Our family served as a foster family and loved on some amazing kiddos and families. It was a very busy time. But my husband and I always say we’ve never felt more energized! I’ve learned that when I truly get out of the way and do “God’s will” not “my own will” I find that I feel the most alive! The joy and peace that comes confirms we were designed to “love God and love others.”
SAY TO GOD: “MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE!”
I had surgery that required a six-week recovery time – including two weeks of bed rest. I wrestled with my self-dependence since I don’t like to ask for help. Ultimately, I used this time to put my trust, rest, and healing in God’s hands. I was so thankful for the love and caring support of friends and family! I feel that Jesus uses challenging times in my life to bring me back to depending on Him. I wish I did not have to learn this hard life lesson over and over.
SAY TO GOD: “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD!”
It breaks my heart to see how people sometimes treat each other. Hurtful comments on social media. Or inappropriate behavior in stores and restaurants. Our pastor shared a message encouraging us to look for the image of God in others rather than focusing first on the damage or sin. I feel this can be applied to every person that we encounter each day. At home, in the workplace, at the grocery store, on social media, across town, or while traveling abroad. Lord, please help me to see others how you would see them first.
SAY TO GOD: “DELIVER US FROM EVIL!”
