Brian
1. READ about Brian’s gratitude for “small” things
“A few ‘small’ things that God provided for me in the past 24 hours that gave me ‘big’ joy: My three kids, two daughters-in-law, and my one-year-old grandson came to my house to celebrate my birthday together. They all excitedly did a variety of projects for me like putting together furniture and shelving around my new house. And they brought everything to make dinner for all of us. We really enjoy each other, and the breaking bread and fellowship. I am wonderfully blessed by the Lord!”
2. REFLECT on your own gratitude for God’s provision in your life
Who can you bless by celebrating, or working, or eating together?
3. Listen to "Bind Us Together” by Leslie Jordan and Sandra McCracken
4. PRAY God’s provision-filled words over your life
Father, give us this day our daily bread of “fellowship” with family and friends. My heart resonates with the psalm writer who cried out: “How wonderful and pleasant it is when we live together in harmony!” Father, thank for the special memories of celebrating with others. Working with others. Eating with others. These are all a gift from your hand. And we are grateful. Amen.
5. And speaking of assembling furniture - a fun fact before you go!
Psychologists coined the term the “IKEA Effect” to describe how people value items more when they assemble them themselves (up to 67% more according to one study) even if the quality of the end product is similar to pre-assembled alternatives.
