“I experience awe and intimacy with God by being intentional about attentiveness to the moment by moment presence of God. In His creation. In his Word. In the big and small experiences of my days. In other people. A favorite quote of mine comes from David Benner in his book, "Sacred Companions" in which he described prayer as "any attention to God". That definition of prayer is brilliant. Prayer is a barometer of our intimacy with and experience of God. I now understand what the apostle Paul meant when he said "pray continuously."
