1. READ what gave Joel fresh purpose
“In college, a friend and I formed a group called "Skategoats" and would transport a bunch of local high schoolers every Saturday to a nearby skateboarding park. We’d take a break halfway into our time there. Everyone sat on their skateboards in the bottom of a half-pipe as I shared a message from the Bible. The owner of the park, who was not a believer, would always join us for those sessions. One time he thanked me for what I had to say and said he had never understood the Bible in that way before. I felt like my small effort was multiplied in unexpected ways.”
2. REFLECT on what gives you fresh purpose
Can you recall a time when God took a small effort of yours and multiplied it in unexpected ways?
3. Listen to “Little Is Much When God Is In It” by Breath of Praise
4. PRAY God’s purpose-filled words over your day!
Father, may your will be done in me and through me today. You said in your Word that your kingdom “is like a mustard seed. And though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants.” (Matthew 13:31-32). Thank you for taking my small efforts and multiplying them in unexpected ways. Help me to align myself with your purpose today. Amen.
5. Before you go…ENJOY this fun fact about skateboards!
Skateboarding originated in the 1950s when surfers in California wanted something to ride when the ocean waves were calm and flat. So they attached rollerskate wheels to wooden boards and called it "sidewalk surfing" as a way to mimic surfing on flat surfaces.
